Your journey begins in Marrakech, where we’ll welcome you at the airport and introduce you to the magic of Moroccan culture. You’ll travel across the High Atlas Mountains, passing through Berber villages and taking in breathtaking landscapes. As the black desert meets the rolling dunes of the Sahara, you’ll share a meal with a Berber family, experiencing their warmth and hospitality. A camel trek to a Bedouin camp will lead you to an unforgettable night under the silence of the desert sky.

Day 1
Airport – Marrakesh
Your 9-day Sahara adventure Tour begins with a warm welcome at the Marrakech airport before a short transfer to the Medina. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the chance to explore the bustling souks and enjoy your first taste of traditional mint tea.

Day 2
Marrakesh – Tizi n Tichka Pass – Ouarzazate
Leaving Marrakech, we journey across the High Atlas Mountains, passing through the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass, the highest road pass in Morocco at 2,260m (7,417ft). Along the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the rugged landscape and Berber villages. Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa, you’ll visit the impressive Taourirt Kasbah and explore the film studios where numerous Hollywood blockbusters were filmed.

Day 3
Ouarzazate – Alnif – Jdaid and Ouzina desert
After breakfast, your Sahara adventure continues along the Draa Valley, passing through the small towns of Agdz and Alnif. From here, we take an off-road route into the vast, arid desert, where you may witness mirages of distant oases. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to meet local nomads and experience their traditional way of life. Arriving in Ouzina, you may choose to stay in a small auberge or a desert camp, both offering a truly immersive desert experience.

Day 4
Taous – Khamlia – Camel trek
Leaving Ouzina, we continue through the Jdaid Desert, where the black desert meets the golden dunes of the Sahara. Along the way, we pass through the villages of Taous and Khamlia, home to the Gnaoua people, whose music and culture are deeply rooted in their West African heritage.
A highlight of the day is a traditional lunch with a Berber family, where you will experience their hospitality and learn more about Moroccan culture and history. In the afternoon, your camel guide will lead you on a sunset trek across the dunes to a Bedouin camp, where you will spend the night under the vast desert sky, surrounded by the silence of the Sahara.
Day 5
Erg Chebbi circle – Hamada
After a stunning desert sunrise, we set off into the Hamada, or “black desert”, where you will meet nomadic familiesand share tea in their traditional tents. This is a rare opportunity to gain insight into their timeless way of life.
In the afternoon, you’ll have the chance to explore the Sahara on a quad bike or simply relax and enjoy the incredible desert landscapes.

Day 6
Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
After breakfast, we travel to Erfoud, known as fossil town, where you’ll find stalls selling crystals, semi-precious stones, and ancient fossils. A visit to Usine de Marmar offers a deeper look into Morocco’s prehistoric treasures.
Next, we journey through the Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon with towering 300m (985ft) cliffs, a well-known spot for rock climbers and adventurers. After lunch, we continue to the Dades Valley, where you’ll see the famous “monkey toes” rock formations and traditional mud-brick kasbahs.

Day 7
Dades – Boutghrar – Valley of Roses – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakesh
Today’s journey takes us through the Dades Valley and the Valley of Roses, where thousands of rose petals are harvested each spring for use in rosewater and perfumes. If visiting in May, you may witness the Rose Festival, a vibrant celebration of this fragrant industry.
We then travel to Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most iconic UNESCO-listed kasbah, famous for its appearance in films such as Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. After exploring this ancient fortress, we cross the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass once again, enjoying spectacular mountain views before returning to Marrakech.

Day 8
Marrakesh Sightseeing
A full day in Marrakech allows you to explore its historical sites and vibrant culture. A local guide will lead you through landmarks such as the Koutoubia Mosque, Jemaa el-Fna Square, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Ben Youssef Medersa, known for its stunning Islamic architecture.
In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Majorelle and Menara Gardens, tranquil green spaces offering a break from the city’s energy. The evening concludes with dinner at a local restaurant and time to soak in the atmosphere of Marrakech.

Day 9
Marrakesh – Airport
Depending on your flight time, you may have time for last-minute shopping in the souks before your transfer to the airport.
