10 Day Cultural Discovery Tour from Casablanca to Marrakech
This ten-day experience traces a thoughtful cultural arc between Casablanca and Marrakech, unfolding through places where tradition, craft, and daily life remain deeply rooted.
Tour Plan :
Day 01: Casablanca – Rabat.
Welcome to Morocco! Upon your arrival, your personal driver/guide will greet you at the airport to begin your journey. Start with a visit to the grand Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, one of the largest in the world and a stunning example of modern Islamic architecture. Afterward, drive to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. Explore Rabat’s historical highlights including the impressive Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the ancient Roman ruins of Chellah, and the beautiful Oudayas Kasbah overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. In the evening, check in to your accommodation in the medina. Enjoy your first night in Morocco with Bed and Breakfast (BB) included.
Day 02: Rabat - Asilah – Tangier
After breakfast, depart Rabat and travel up the scenic Atlantic coast to the charming seaside town of Asilah. This fortified town is renowned for its annual art festival, whitewashed buildings, and colorful murals. Visit the historic Skalla fortress for sweeping views of the ocean and medina. After lunch, continue on to Tangier, a city that has long fascinated artists and writers with its cosmopolitan flair. Visit Cap Spartel, where the Atlantic and Mediterranean meet, and explore the famous Hercules Cave. Conclude the day with a walk through the Tangier medina before checking in to Dar Tanja or a similar guesthouse. Bed and Breakfast (BB) included.
Day 03: Tangier – Chefchaouen – Fes
Today, head inland through the scenic Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, the Blue Pearl of Morocco. Stroll through its winding blue alleyways, stop by artisan shops, and soak up the relaxed mountain atmosphere. Enjoy lunch in the picturesque medina before continuing your journey to Fes, Morocco’s spiritual and cultural heart. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation at Riad Yacout, Riad Fes Nass Zmane, or a similar traditional riad. Relax for the evening in the enchanting old city. Bed and Breakfast (BB) included.
Day 04: Full Day Exploring Fes
Discover the rich history of Fes with a full-day guided tour. Explore the UNESCO-listed Fes el-Bali, the largest and oldest medina in Morocco. Visit Al Karaouine Mosque and University, the Bou Inania Madrasa, the ancient tannery quarter, and the Nejjarine fountain. After lunch, head outside the medina to see the ornate gates of the Royal Palace and walk through the Jewish Quarter (Mellah). You’ll also visit a pottery cooperative to see traditional ceramic techniques. End the day with a panoramic view of the medina from one of Fes’ surrounding hills. Overnight stay at your riad with Bed and Breakfast (BB) included.
Day 05: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Merzouga
After breakfast, journey south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop first in Ifrane, known as the "Little Switzerland" of Morocco, followed by a walk in the cedar forests of Azrou where you may spot Barbary macaques. Continue to Midelt for lunch, then descend through the spectacular Ziz Valley and its vast date palm groves. Arrive in Merzouga in the evening, where the Sahara begins. You’ll be welcomed with mint tea and settle into your riad—Riad Azawad, Riad Madu, or similar. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner and rest well. Half-Board (HB) included.
Day 06: Sahara Desert Exploration and Camel Ride
Today, immerse yourself in Saharan culture and landscapes. Visit the village of Khamlia, home to the Gnawa people, and enjoy a musical performance. Explore the desert’s seasonal lake and the traditional market of Rissani. In the afternoon, embark on a guided camel ride into the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the sunset before arriving at your luxury desert camp, where you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner under the stars, followed by Berber music around the campfire. Overnight at Palmyra Luxury Camp or similar. Half-Board (HB) included.
Day 07: Merzouga - Todra Gorges - Dades Gorges
Wake early to witness the magical sunrise over the dunes, then return to Merzouga for breakfast and a refreshing shower. Begin your journey through the desert towns of Rissani and Tinghir, where you’ll visit the awe-inspiring Todra Gorges. Enjoy a walk through the canyon’s towering rock walls before continuing through the lush Dades Valley. Known as the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, it offers stunning landscapes of red rock and almond groves. Overnight at Chez Ichou, Dar Rihana, or a similar guesthouse. Half-Board (HB) included.
Day 08: Dades – Rose Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Depart Dades Valley and travel through the Valley of Roses, stopping for photos or rose products depending on the season. Drive through the oasis of Skoura and reach Ouarzazate, the "Hollywood of Africa." Visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and film set for movies like Gladiator. After exploring, cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with panoramic views of Berber villages and dramatic landscapes. Arrive in Marrakech in the evening. Overnight at Riad Nesma, Riad Ksar Anika, or similar. Bed and Breakfast (BB) included.
Day 09: Full Day Exploring Marrakech
Explore the Red City with a professional guide. Begin at the iconic Jemaa El Fna square, then visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs, and the Bahia Palace. Continue to the colorful souks of the medina and the historic Ben Youssef Madrasa. After lunch, visit the Majorelle Gardens and the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, then explore Gueliz, the modern part of Marrakech. Return to your riad for an evening of relaxation or enjoy dinner at a rooftop restaurant. Overnight at your riad with Bed and Breakfast (BB) included.
Day 10: Marrakech – Departure
Enjoy a relaxed morning in Marrakech. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for some last-minute shopping or a hammam experience. Your driver will transfer you to the airport with plenty of time for your departure. Take with you unforgettable memories of Morocco’s diverse landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality.
