3 Day from Errachidia and back to Errachidia
A carefully paced three-day exploration beginning and ending in Errachidia, blending iconic desert scenery with lesser-known landscapes and cultural encounters. This journey is entirely flexible and can be customised to suit your travel style.
Tour Plan :
Day 1: Errachidia Airport – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga – Desert Camp
Upon arrival at Errachidia Airport, your private driver will greet you and begin the scenic drive through the lush Ziz Valley. This fertile ribbon of greenery cuts through the rocky terrain, offering dramatic views and a glimpse into traditional oasis life. Continue to Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops and date festival. In the afternoon, reach Merzouga, where your camels await. Ride across the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes, enjoying the shifting colors of the sand at sunset. Arrive at your luxury camp, where you’ll be welcomed with mint tea and Moroccan pastries. Dinner is served under the stars, followed by traditional music beside the fire.
Day 2: Merzouga Exploration – Khamlia – Nomads – Black Desert – Merzouga
Wake early for a magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, set off in a 4x4 to explore the surrounding region. Visit the village of Khamlia, home to the Gnaoua people, where you’ll enjoy a spiritual live music performance. Continue to visit nomadic families living in tents, where you’ll gain insight into their resilient desert lifestyle. Explore the mysterious “black desert,” known for its volcanic stones and fossil sites. Return to your riad or desert lodge in Merzouga for some downtime. Optional sandboarding or quad biking can be arranged. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing meal and a peaceful night under the desert sky.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Tafilalet Palm Grove – Ziz Gorge – Errachidia Airport
After breakfast, depart for Rissani, once the capital of the ancient Tafilalet kingdom. Stroll through its vibrant souk and visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, the founder of the Alaouite dynasty. Drive through the vast Tafilalet Palm Grove before heading north toward the Ziz Gorge. Take in the spectacular cliffside views and stop for lunch at a local kasbah restaurant. After some final scenic stops, return to Errachidia. Depending on your flight schedule, we’ll arrange a timely drop-off at the airport, concluding your enriching 3-day journey through desert dunes, Berber villages, and oasis landscapes.
